With fall now in full swing and the holidays swiftly approaching, I thought what better time than now to do some multicolored fall-inspired polka dot nails? (Especially since I’m on that polka dot kick.) I decided to test out a new method of applying the nail polish: instead of painting it on with a small paint brush, I dotted it on with a small nail and a straight pin. Follow these easy instructions to do your own— you can also do this in a multitude of colors for any occasion! (A big thank you to this guy for helping me figure out how to properly use my camera!)
Julep Rachel, Sephora by OPI Hi Def, Sally Hansen White On, SinfulColors Pull Over, 4mm nail head, straight pin (about 1mm)
Start with a white base coat. Paint some copper polish on the nail head.
Lightly dot the painted nail head onto your nails. I did a set of three large dots on the side of each nail.
Now, using the pin, paint some orange polish on it and stamp onto nails. If you’re nervous about poking yourself, you can push the pointy part into an eraser and use it that way. Do the same thing with the yellow polish, dotting in a random spots to make the cluster.
Finish with a top coat and enjoy your fall themed nails!
