This is the last of my Art Basel 2011 posts! Saturday night was the Playboy party at Dream Hotel’s Highbar in South Beach for the Soiree D’Art. The space was gorgeous- a rooftop bar with an infinity edge pool, colorful lights, crazy artwork and the painted ladies that Playboy is known for. We didn’t think we’d make it there in time since we were across the bridge for another event, but glad we did!

The photographs (bottom left) payed homage to Leroy Neiman’s “Femlin” (top left) and were a collaboration between photographer Andrew Strasser and musician/artist Kembra Pfahler (right).

Ran into Tara soon after arriving. (Tara, Ink did this event as well.)

BLOG UPDATE*
You may have noticed that I removed Google Friend Connect from the sidebar. They will ending this service in March for blogs not on Blogger (which means me). If you’re following me that way, you’ll continue to see my posts until then, but will have to switch to some other reader/method of following afterward. (a hassle, I know!) I suggest you make the switch now so you’ll continue getting posts from your favorite blogs.

Awesome artwork and very fitting for a playboy party. This venue is amazing, too, btw…I wish I could have gone, and hang out by a pool in December. Boston is freezing right now.

I didn’t even think about that! Yes, it’s cool to hang by a pool in Dec, but we also don’t have a real winter :(
You look STUNNING, doll! It looks like this was such a blast.

I used to live in Florida and I was always kvelling about not having real seasons, real winters where I could wear winter clothing. I’ve been wearing winter clothing for about 3 years straight now. I’m so sick of it I could barf. And I’ve moved in those 3 years. It’s like the world is trying to punish me for not appreciating what I had when I had it because now – I would LOVE some warm weather, sun, and lounging by a pool. What a fabulous way to spend your evening!

Good point! I guess it would be better to live here and then go off on a winter vacation. Once you get sick of the cold and the snow, you can come back home to the beach :)
